Terms of use
Last updated 16 October 2026
The agreement for using Keep Clear, in plain English.
The short version
- Keep Clear is a self-help app. It isn’t medical treatment or a crisis service.
- It costs US$49.99 a year or US$9.99 a week, renewing automatically until you cancel. There’s no free trial.
- To avoid the next charge, cancel in your iPhone’s Settings at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law always apply.
About these terms
These terms are between you and the developer of Keep Clear, the seller named on its App Store page (“we” or “us”). By downloading or using Keep Clear, you agree to them.
Apple’s standard licence for apps, the Licensed Application End User License Agreement, also applies. These terms add to it.
What Keep Clear is, and isn’t
Keep Clear helps you stop or cut back on gambling. It has a guide to blocking tools, steps for riding out urges, check-ins, plans for risky days and a record of your progress.
It’s a self-help tool. It isn’t medical, psychological, financial or legal advice or treatment, and it doesn’t replace a gambling counsellor, your doctor or a financial counsellor. The gambling check in the app (the Problem Gambling Severity Index) is a screening questionnaire, not a diagnosis.
Keep Clear isn’t a crisis service, and nobody monitors what you enter. If you’re in danger, call 000. For support at any time, call Gambling Help on 1800 858 858 or Lifeline on 13 11 14.
Keep Clear can support your choices about gambling, but it can’t make them for you or stop you from placing a bet.
Blocking tools and other services
The setup guide explains how to use services run by others, like BetStop, your bank’s gambling block and venue self-exclusion. Those organisations run their own services and set their own rules. We check the steps regularly, but they can change without notice. If a provider’s instructions differ from ours, follow theirs and let us know.
Keep Clear isn’t connected to, or endorsed by, BetStop, any bank, any venue or any betting company.
Your subscription
- Keep Clear needs a subscription. The crisis contacts in the app are free for everyone.
- There are two plans: yearly at US$49.99 a year, and weekly at US$9.99 a week. The App Store shows the price in your own currency, including any taxes like GST, before you buy.
- There’s no free trial. Your Apple Account is charged when you confirm the purchase.
- Your subscription renews automatically for the same length and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Apple charges for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- To cancel or change plans, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
- Apple handles payments and refunds. To ask for a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
- If the price changes, Apple will tell you beforehand and, where required, ask you to agree before you’re charged the new price.
Using Keep Clear
Keep Clear is for your own personal use. Please don’t copy, sell or share the app or its content, try to take it apart, or use it in a way that breaks the law. We own the app’s design, words and code, and using it doesn’t give you ownership of them.
You can stop using Keep Clear at any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting the app.
Your information
What you log stays on your phone. Our privacy policy explains what leaves your phone and why. We don’t keep a copy, so we can’t recover your progress if you delete the app or lose your phone without a backup.
Our responsibility to you
We work to keep Keep Clear accurate and working well, and we keep improving it, so features may change over time. We can’t promise it will always be available or free of mistakes.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or under any other law that can’t be excluded. Subject to that, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to what you’ve paid for Keep Clear in the 12 months before your claim.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We’ll change the date at the top, and for changes that matter we’ll tell you in the app before they apply. If you keep using Keep Clear after that, the updated terms apply.
Law
These terms are governed by Australian law, and Australian courts can hear any dispute about them.
